10 ChatGPT Prompts Every Cattery Owner Needs

Dashing Coons
July 10, 2026

If you're still writing every kitten listing, every Instagram caption, and every waitlist email from scratch — you're working way too hard. ChatGPT can do the heavy lifting in seconds. You just need the right prompts.

I run Dashing Coons entirely from my phone. These are the exact prompts I use every week to market my cattery, manage my waitlist, and answer buyer questions without burning out.

1. The Kitten Listing Prompt

This is the one I use most. Paste it into ChatGPT and fill in the brackets:

"Write a compelling kitten listing for a [color/pattern] Maine Coon [male/female] named [name]. The kitten is [polydactyl/non-poly], [available/reserved], and priced at $[price]. The cattery is TICA-registered and based in Southern Illinois. The tone should be warm, poetic, and premium — like a luxury brand. 3-4 sentences max."

The result will be 10x better than anything you'd write at 11pm after a long day. Tweak it once and you're done.

2. The Instagram Caption Prompt

"Write 3 Instagram captions for a photo of a [describe the photo — e.g. 'black smoke Maine Coon kitten sleeping in a sunbeam']. The cattery is called Dashing Coons. Tone: warm, proud, slightly poetic. Include 1 call to action (link in bio / DM us). No hashtags yet."

Pick the one you like, add your hashtags, and post. Done in under 2 minutes.

3. The Waitlist Welcome Email

"Write a warm, professional welcome email for a new kitten waitlist deposit. The cattery is Dashing Coons — a TICA-registered European Maine Coon cattery in Southern Illinois. Include: a thank-you, what to expect next, a note about the timeline, and a reminder that we'll be in touch when a match is found. Tone: warm, confident, premium."

Send this once, save it as a template, and never write it again.

4. The FAQ Answer Generator

"Answer this question a potential Maine Coon buyer might ask: '[paste their question]'. Answer as a knowledgeable, TICA-registered breeder. Be honest, helpful, and reassuring. 2-3 sentences."

I use this when someone asks something I've answered 50 times. Paste, tweak, send.

5. The TikTok Hook Generator

"Give me 5 TikTok video hook ideas for a Maine Coon cattery. The hooks should stop the scroll in the first 2 seconds. Mix educational, emotional, and curiosity-based angles."

Pick one, film a 30-second video, post it. Repeat weekly.

6. The Buyer Objection Handler

"A potential kitten buyer said: '[paste their message or objection]'. Write a professional, empathetic response that addresses their concern and keeps the conversation moving forward. Tone: confident, warm, not pushy."

This one saves relationships. When someone pushes back on price or timeline, this prompt helps you respond like a pro instead of getting defensive.

7. The Blog Post Outline

"Create a detailed blog post outline for the topic: '[your topic]'. Target audience: people considering buying a Maine Coon kitten. Include an intro, 5-7 H2 sections with brief descriptions, and a conclusion with a CTA."

Use this to plan your content calendar. One outline takes 10 seconds. Then write the post section by section — or ask ChatGPT to write each section too.

8. The Hashtag Research Prompt

"Give me 25 Instagram hashtags for a Maine Coon cattery post about [topic]. Mix high-volume, medium, and niche hashtags. Include some specific to Maine Coons, some to cat breeders, and some to [your state/region]."

Save these in a notes app and rotate them. Never use the same set twice.

9. The Contract Clause Explainer

"Explain this kitten contract clause in plain English for a buyer who has never purchased a purebred kitten before: '[paste clause]'. Be clear, friendly, and reassuring."

Buyers get nervous about contracts. This prompt helps you explain your terms without sounding like a lawyer — or spending 20 minutes on the phone.

10. The Monthly Newsletter

"Write a short monthly newsletter for Dashing Coons Maine Coon cattery. Include: a litter update (mention [litter name] is [status]), a kitten spotlight, a care tip, and a reminder to join the waitlist. Tone: warm, personal, like a letter from a friend. 300 words max."

Send this to your email list once a month. It keeps buyers warm, builds trust, and reminds people you exist — even when you don't have kittens available.

The Bottom Line

AI doesn't replace your voice — it amplifies it. You still review everything, add your personality, and make it yours. But the blank page problem? Gone. The "I don't know what to post" problem? Gone.

Save these prompts. Use them this week. Your cattery marketing will never be the same.
